Safe Body and Body Detox with Fresh Fruit
Choosing to do a cleansing and detoxification program several times a year is one of the smartest health care choices we can make. Purifying our body has never been more obligatory than the last twenty years. We must deal with an unprecedented and formidable number of toxic chemicals in our environment and in the food we eat.
A bi-monthly body detox, alone, is usually not enough to clear our body of toxins, especially if our regular eating and living routines are less than ideal. So one of the second smartest health care practices we can set is to implement some new good habits into our everyday life. There are hundreds of good habits you can choose, one of which is the addition of fresh fruit to your diet.
Most all fruits are a natural body detoxifier, especially the acid fruits, such as pineapple, lemons, limes, grapefruit, for example. If you set about the habit of having 2 or 3 pieces of fruit a day, you will, in effect, create a gentle, painless method to detox your body.
Here are some guideposts for receiving the broadest gain from eating fruit:
Fruit is best consumed alone because it breaks down so rapidly in the stomach. Don’t eat fruit after a big meal or when you eat meat. You will make a putrefication reaction in your intestine that will create cramping, bloating or gas and undermine your nourishment. The safest time to consume fruit is first thing in the morning.
Another good time to have fruit is as a snack in the mid or late afternoon. Pick a low glycemic fruit like an apple if hypoglycemia might be a problem.
With fruit, more is not necessarily better. Fruit is made of natural sugars and too much at once can shoot up your blood sugar levels like a candy bar.
